Import Data Using a Template
Prerequisites
- Create the import data template you intend to use. See Create an Import Template. Templates for importing data are project specific.
- The data file is available to import into your project. This is typically a defined file with data exported from another system. You will need to know where this file is located so you can select it.
- Advance the Calendar to the current reporting period before you import the current actual costs or update the estimate to complete data.
- Select in the Navigation Menu. The main EVMax window displays.
- Select your project from the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu.
- Click in the Ribbon Menu, select , and then select . A separate Import Template Entry window opens. The Data tab window displays.
- Click on the dropdown and select the template you want from the list. The template auto populates the column headings in the Data tab window (row 1).
- Click on the ellipsis button to navigate to the file you want to import.
- Select the file and click . The data from the import file populates the rows in the Data tab window.
- Click . An Actuals dialog box displays.

Tips:
Estimated costs can be also imported the same way you import actual costs. Instead of selecting Actual from the Cost Code dropdown, select the cost code you have defined for the estimated costs. See Add Estimated Costs Cost Code.
Should you identify an error in the actual costs you just imported, you can clear the current period actual costs (see Remove Current Actual Costs), fix the errors in the import data file, and import your data again. If you also imported any estimated actuals, they are also cleared.
